I would like to donate a single payment:
A £10 donation will help a Les Amis resident by enabling them to access social activities such as the cinema, attending Mencap discos or going for a few games at Jersey Bowl. These sorts of activities we, as the general population, may take for granted. Unfortunately funding for these activities is not included in the Long Term Care benefit payments our residents receive. Without your donations, the residents of Les Amis would become socially isolated and may be more prone to mental health issues such as depression, loneliness, low confidence and low self-esteem.
Your donation helps ensure our residents can have a good day, every day.
Some of the residents at Les Amis are lucky enough to be in some form of full time or part time employment at a variety of places including; Jersey Zoo, Jersey Post and at Beresford St Kitchen. Additionally at Les Amis, we offer some employment opportunities for our residents. These include being part of our Gardens Team, car cleaning service, window cleaning team or Les Amis’ Recycling Team. £20 helps towards the purchase of work clothes such as protective boots, heavy duty trousers and waterproof jackets for the residents.
Being able to work gives our residents a sense of pride by being able to contribute to society and achieve some of their goals.
At Les Amis we take recycling very seriously.
The Les Amis recycling team provides employment opportunities for some our residents. The team recycles paper, cardboard, plastic bottles, cooking oil and metal/aluminum cans.
Your donation helps to fund the Recycling Team by providing equipment and clothing as well the upkeep and maintenance of the recycling van.
At Les Amis we believe in supporting our residents in learning as many new and essential skills as possible. Therefore, the decision was made to start our own Life Skills and Leisure Club for the residents.
We run a programme of activities including Makaton classes (sign language), fitness and nutrition, money management, literacy skills, music and movement and art & crafts. All of the sessions are taught and facilitated by a fantastic team of talented support workers. Your donation helps to provide materials such as musical instruments, sports equipment and art & crafts materials. Your donation helps ensure the residents not only access the community but have the chance to develop new skills and talents.
Helping people to fulfil their potential is fulfilling in itself, which makes working with our residents deeply rewarding. If you’d like to find out more, just fill in the boxes below and upload your CV. We’ll then be in touch.
