Les Amis Residential services comprises of sixteen properties across the Island. The 55 residents currently living within this service are men and women who range in age from 18 to 70+ years.
Our properties range from a one-bedroom flat to five six-bedroomed houses. Our main aim is to offer a homely environment where the residents feel free to express themselves and make real choices that affect their lives. By empowering the individuals we support, the Les Amis residential service helps them to gain the necessary skills to participate and contribute to their local community as equal and valued members of society. The philosophy of Les Amis values the opinions of the residents and they’re encouraged and supported to make decisions about their lives and to contribute too the day-to-day running of the home in which they live.
The residents are involved in the decisions that affect them and importantly, who their housemates will be and which staff will support them. The mix of men and women, characters and their likes and dislikes are all important, as with any housemates living together.
Our residential service ranges from individuals living independently, to Les Amis staff being in situ 24/7. The Head of the Residential service, Natalie Brown, oversees over 90 members of staff, including eight registered managers who oversee either one or two properties. Les Amis’ dedicated staff teams provide professional support and guidance for all residents, striving to make sure that they have a positive and productive experience. We employ staff of both sexes to provide positive role models to our residents; we aim to support a diverse group of people with an equally diverse group of staff - characters click and friends are made - just like it would be for anyone else.
We work closely with parents and carers in order to encourage open communication. Working inclusively with immediate family, other support workers and professionals means we provide a package of care that meets the specific needs of the individual we are supporting - ensuring an agreed and co-ordinated package of care to optimise the experience of the resident.
