Les Amis provide quality services to support people with learning disabilities and/or associated conditions gain equal opportunities in Jersey, Channel Islands.
We are pioneering in the face of both global and local challenges, such as the aging population, and developing social enterprises that benefit the community as a whole, such as our recycling services.
This wouldn’t be possible without the support of people like you taking the time to get to know us, lending support, taking part in fundraising or simply making a donation.
Together we are stronger. Together we’re rewriting the story of disability.
More about usLes Amis supports around 100 adult Islanders with learning disabilities at any one time via three services to suit a variety of complex, evolving needs: Residential (group care homes), Domiciliary (support for those living independently)and Respite (24 hour 'home' away from home). We also run an eco-social enterprise, collecting and recycling used commercial cooking oil, which employs some of our service-users.
Les Amis is the largest charity in Jersey and is 100% funded by our service users and your donations, and not directly by the States of Jersey. Your support powers the work we do, having a visible, direct impact on our service users and the wider community.

Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.
We are preparing to meet the rising demand for dementia care and, in doing so, ease the services that will be so greatly needed by the general population.
It is important to understand that in many circumstances people with learning disabilities can achieve their goals, be it living reasonably independently to living with gentle support and care.
Disability does not mean inability and at Les Amis we aim to offer the right support, at the right time, in the right place and from the right people.
We build the support we give around five corner stones or values, which aim to recognise our service user’s right to live an independent, happy and varied life.
The team that drives Les Amis are more than just staff; we strive to embody the charity’s name. With dozens of roles to fill, the ‘amis’ (friends) work together, making sure that every aspect of the Les Amis service meets the expectations of our residents, service users and the families who rely on us. Les Amis staff are a beacon to the people we help - enabling people with learning disabilities to shine.
