Donations Privacy Notice
When you make a donation to Les Amis, we use your personal information to process your donation and meet our legal and financial obligations.
What information is involved:
When you choose to donate via PayPal, the following information may be processed:
Name
Email address
Donation Amount
Transaction and payment reference details
Please do not include health, care, safeguarding or other sensitive personal information in any PayPal donation message or payment reference.
Les Amis does not receive your full payment card details.
PayPal's role:
PayPal acts as an independent data controller for the personal data it processes when you choose to donate using PayPal. Les Amis and PayPal each determine how they process the personal data they are responsible for. When you proceed to PayPal, your information is also processed in accordance with PayPal's own Privacy Statement and security controls.
Lawful basis for processing:
We process donation information on the following lawful bases:
Contract - to process your donation
Legal obligation - for accounting, audit, and anti-fraud requirements
Legitimate interests - to manage and record charitable donations
International transfers
PayPal may process personal data outside Jersey, the UK or the EEA. Where this occurs, appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or adequacy decisions are applied by PayPal.
How long we keep your information
Donation records are retained in accordance with our financial retention requirements (currently 6 years) and are then securely deleted or anonymised.

Your rights
You have rights under the Data Protection (Jersey) Law 2018, including the right to access your information or raise concerns about how it is used.
If your request relates to personal data processed by PayPal, you may also need to contact PayPal directly using the rights process set out in PayPal's Privacy Statement.
How your information is shared
PayPal-related information may be shared with PayPal, PayPal group companies, payment networks, payment processors, financial institutions, fraud prevention agencies, regulators or authorities where required to process payments, prevent fraud, resolve disputes or comply with legal obligations.
