Over the last few weeks, Dave Crossland, Founder of Odyssea, has coached the Les Amis Maintenance & Recycling Team as they adopt new skills to supplement their role as Mentors for their Apprentices (service users who, alongside the care provided by Les Amis have the opportunity of employment on their Sustainable Social Enterprise, the waste cooking oil recycling).
Dave led the group through a series of workshops that focus upon how mentors set an example and influence others by creating an environment that facilitates learning. Coaching models, learning styles, and leadership qualities were all discussed in a dynamic forum; which was well received by the Les Amis Maintenance Team Mentors.
At the final session, some of the Les Amis Apprentices joined Dave alongside their colleagues on the Maintenance & Recycling Team to celebrate these newly learned skills with some pizza and some exciting discussion about the next year ahead.
Facilities Manager, Alex Black said "I have already noticed a difference across the 3 sessions where the understanding of others has now become consciously the forefront of the discussions at work. Dave is an exceptional facilitator with an apt way of reaching multiple individuals. Thank you Dave for all your generous and kind support that you have given to Les Amis".
