Lloyds Bank Foundation supports Les Amis' Private Transport Provision

This year, Les Amis is incredibly grateful to receive a grant of £30,700 from Lloyds Bank Foundation towards its private transportation service to the 100 or so adult Islanders it supports who have learning disabilities and associated conditions, e.g., Down's Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Autism and so on.

Les Amis provides private transportation for its service users and residents, allowing them free, equitable access to attend employment/ volunteering opportunities, social/ group activities and healthcare appointments reliably and peacefully. Its efficient transportation service costs the charity around £1,000 per person per year, and is all underpinned by a Transport Co-ordinator, who ensures all 32 of its vehicles are safe, fit-for-purpose and available for residents, service users and their support staff when needed.

Sinead is one resident who benefits from Les Amis' private transportation, which enables her to go to and from work at Beresford Street Kitchen and attend her much-loved Swim Easy training sessions, where she sees many of her friends. View the video below to see an example of the positive impact of Les Amis' support and private transport service.

Thank you, Lloyds Bank Foundation for supporting the work of Les Amis so that we can support people like Sinead and Tia.
