Patrons' official dedication of Leslie Norman Court

Oct 03, 2024

Les Amis' Patrons, His Excellency Vice Admiral Jerry Kyd CBE (the Lieutenant-Governor) and Dr Karen Kyd officially dedicated The Limes block of apartments to our Chair of Trustees, Leslie Norman MBE who has supported the charity for over 40 years.

Based in the recently completed Limes development in Green Street, St Helier, Leslie Norman Court (LNC) offers adults with learning disabilities sheltered accommodation in the heart of town. Comprising 12 one-bedroom apartments, an office for on-site support workers and an enclosed shared garden, LNC enables adults with learning disabilities to live independently whilst having community and support at their door-step should they need it.

Following the difficult decision to halt the former Project Maison des Amis in March 2023, Les Amis agreed to transfer the former Hampshire Hotel site to Andium Homes in exchange for the separate and dedicated block of the Limes development. The agreement enabled the charity to deliver the majority of the former project's mission, albeit in a different location.

The twelve residents (plus their pet rabbits and a budgie) have now moved into their new homes and are enjoying their new-found independence. Watch our ITV Channel News coverage to see how residents Martin and Sinead have settled in.
