After being postponed due to Storm Darragh, Les Amis' annual Christmas Choir Service returned on Wednesday, 11th December at the St Helier Town Church. The Choir, who have been practicing since September, helped spread the Christmas cheer by singing and signing carols and Christmas hits.
Managing Director of Les Amis, Shaun Findlay, said: 'Apart from the break during Covid, we have held this service for many years, and for us, it marks the start of Christmas. We all really look forward to celebrating with our residents and service users. I would like to thank The Very Reverend Mike Kierle, Dean of Jersey, and Reverend James Porter, who welcome us to the Town Church every year.'
Registered Manager, Tia Read, led the Choir this year, accompanied by Malcolm L'Amy on the organ. The Choir also wore Christmas t-shirts produced by the team at Beresford Street Kitchen (BSK) Printworks, where several service users work. The service was sponsored by Sure Business.
Paul Acton, Chief Executive of Sure Jersey, added: 'This is a wonderful occasion and opportunity for supporters to get together with the charity and its service users in the build-up to Christmas. Les Amis provides essential services, celebrating and maintaining the visibility of adults with learning disabilities in the community, and we are pleased to be involved in this event and to support the charity in its work going forward.'
