Former site of Project Maison des Amis for sale by tender

Jul 03, 2023

In March 2023, Les Amis’ Board of Directors and Trustees made the tough decision to halt the Maison des Amis (MDA) development on the site of the former Hampshire Hotel, Val Plaisant. The development was intended to facilitate the care of aging adult Islanders with learning disabilities (LD), particular those with dementia. To understand more about the history of the project, click here.

Since March, Les Amis has been unwinding the project with due care – considering its stakeholders, including the residents and their families; its staff; project donors and contractors; as well as care organisations and public bodies.

Les Amis remains committed to providing for the unmet needs of LD adult Islanders, especially as they age and require specialist care. As such, the Board believe that in order for Les Amis to consider future options for such a facility, the best course of action is to sell the former Hampshire Hotel site. The proceeds of the sale would then be ring-fenced and the funds ready for activation should a suitable opportunity arise.

The former Hampshire Hotel is now for sale by tender. Expressions of interest are being managed by Queree Property Consultants Ltd. For more details or to submit a tender before 12:00 noon, Thursday 31 August 2023, contact: jonathan@queree.je
