Les Amis announces a few changes to its leadership team.
First, Les Amis would like to express its gratitude to Leslie Norman, Non-Executive Director of Les Amis Ltd. (Chair) and Trustee of Les Amis Inc. (Treasurer). Les has dedicated many years of voluntary service to people with learning disabilities in Jersey.
Shaun Findlay, Managing Director – Les Amis: “Les has been involved with the charity for nearly 40 years in total. He has always passionately championed Les Amis and the rights and care of Islanders with learning disabilities. The team will certainly miss Les, but we are pleased to hear that he will continue to support the charity, albeit in a less formal capacity.”
Stepping into the position of Chair of the Board of Les Amis Ltd. once more will be Paul Routier MBE, who has campaigned and fundraised for Islanders with learning disabilities since his son was born with Down Syndrome in 1977. Paul joined Les Amis’ predecessor organisation, Maison Variety, in 1985 – his support and steering of the organisation has remained steadfast ever since.
Paul Routier MBE, Chair of the Board of Les Amis Ltd.: “Since I’ve been part of Les Amis, I’ve always been grateful to those Islanders who join our leadership team and voluntarily contribute their specialist skills and experience.
Today, I have the pleasure of welcoming to our Board, Lucy Marsh-Smith, Trustee of Les Amis Inc. Lucy approached us when she saw an open call for Trustees last year. She was inspired by the work of Les Amis and wanted to learn more. As Principal Legislative Drafter at Government of Jersey and a long-serving member of our civil service, Lucy’s contribution to our board’s decisions will be most valued.”
Les Amis would also like to thank and bid a fond farewell to Richard Hollick for his years as Trustee of Les Amis Inc.
Stewart Mourant MBE, Chair of the Board of Trustees of Les Amis Inc.: “I remain proud to support Les Amis, as I have done for over 20 years now, since one of my granddaughters was born with Down Syndrome.
I’m pleased to announce and welcome our newest Trustee, Stephen (Steve) Pallett. Steve has an adult son with learning disabilities, and over the years, the Pallett family have come to appreciate first-hand the benefits and support that Les Amis brings to Islanders with learning disabilities. We look forward to Steve’s contribution via his role on the Board of Trustees."
The Board of Directors and Board of Trustees at Les Amis, together with its dedicated staff, proudly continue to empower people with learning disabilities.
