We've been shortlisted for a global people management award

Jul 26, 2018

Les Amis has been shortlisted for a global award in people management practice as part of The Investors in People Awards 2018, recognising the importance that the Jersey charity places on people making a difference to the lives of its residents. Les Amis is the only Channel Island organisation to have received recognition as part of the Awards this year.

Shortlisted for its work in the charitable sector, Les Amis is joined by organisations such as LGBT Foundation and Swiis Foster Care Scotland. The Awards celebrate the best people management practices amongst Investors in People accredited businesses, with the winner to be named at a spectacular awards ceremony in London on 28 November 2018.

Les Amis gained Investors in People status in 2014 and was awarded Silver status in 2017, putting the charity in the top 5% of 8,000 worldwide organisations and heralding them as great employers.

Shaun Findlay, Managing Director, Les Amis said: “We are thrilled to be shortlisted for these awards, especially as we stand alongside some really large global organisations. This demonstrates that despite our small size, Channel Island charities are capable of setting a shining example to the rest of the world.

“Les Amis is a great place to work and we really do invest heavily in our staff through training and development as well as considering their wellbeing and happiness. To have been continually recognised by Investors in People over the last few years shows what a journey Les Amis has been on, something which we hope to continue to build upon.”

Paul Devoy, Head of Investors in People, said: “The quality of entries for The Investors in People Awards never ceases to amaze me, and 2018 has been no different. We are privileged to work with thousands of incredible organisations and it brings me great pride and pleasure that we are able to highlight and celebrate this excellence through our Awards.”

Les Amis now employ more than 200 people within their organisation on the island. From their most recent staff satisfaction survey, 98% of respondents said they were proud to work for the organisation.
