How long can you plank for? How strong is your core? Well, why not test your endurance by taking part in the Island’s first Plankathon - an exciting and innovative challenge organised by Les Amis.
The plank is a static exercise requires no equipment and can be performed just about anywhere – including West’s Centre, which will host Jersey’s inaugural Plankathon between 12 noon and 3 pm on the 23rd.
All Islanders are encouraged to test their planking ability, entering through a £5 donation to Les Amis and then taking the test. Qualified PTs will be on hand to ensure the correct position and to time efforts.
There will be competitions, and prizes, for the best individual effort (male and female), the best corporate team and the best representative from the media.
The world record is plank eight hours, one minute, and one second, held by Chinese policeman Mao Wei-dong, who set the record in May this year.
