Lucy Marsh-Smith

Trustee, Les Amis Inc.

“I am so pleased to be able to contribute further to supporting learning disabled people.”

Lucy became a Trustee of Les Amis Inc in 2022 with a strong desire to make a greater contribution to Jersey’s community. Having assisted in a special educational needs school years ago many years ago in the UK, Lucy, a lawyer and career civil servant, was involved in setting up the UK’s Special Educational Needs Tribunal in the 1990s. She moved to Jersey in 1996 to specialise in legislative drafting and in 2018 became head of the Legislative Drafting Office, with ultimate responsibility for the drafting and publication of all Jersey legislation.

Lucy’s desire to serve Les Amis was prompted by her continued interest and having some insight in this care sector via a learning-disabled friend of hers.
