Cormac Timothy

Non-Executive Director, Les Amis Limited.

Cormac and his family have lived in Jersey for 24 years. His son, Liam, was diagnosed with autism and severe learning disabilities at a young age. This had a dramatic affect on their family, in which Cormac’s wife left employment to become Liam’s full-time carer. This enabled Cormac to continue as Assistant Headteacher at Jersey College for Girls, before his 10-year tenure as Headteacher of St George’s Preparatory School.

For 10 years Cormac was a Trustee of Autism Jersey and member of the Parent Carer Forum, contributing to the inclusive school reviews by the National Association of Special Educational Needs (NASEN) to benefit the education of those with special needs. He is also Trustee of the Jersey Community Relations Trust, working to identify discrimination and provide an accurate picture of vulnerable or marginalised communities in the Island.
