Les Amis Recycling Team

Last year the Association of Jersey Charities chose to invest in our Les Amis Recycling Team initiative.

The Story

What we do?

The Association of Jersey Charities donated the money necessary to buy our van and now we are up and running and raring to go.

The Les Amis Recycling Team will come to your office or business and collect any of your recyclable goods and ensure that they are recycled.

Why we’re doing it?

The States of Jersey have a target to recycle 36% of the Island’s waste under the banner Recycle for Jersey. Les Amis want to support the Island’s green agenda by creating the Les Amis Recycling Team it also creates more opportunities for our residents to have sheltered employment.

How much will it cost you?

We hope that the service will be backed by lots of local businesses so that the service will only cost each business £5 a week. The more people that sign up the cheaper the service becomes.

Where does the money go?

This is a not-for-profit initiative and the money is solely to cover our running costs. All we want to do is cover the cost of paying the allowance/wage for the learning disabled adults collecting the recyclable items.

Why should you sign up to the Les Amis Recycling Team?

Signing up for the Les Amis Recycling Team service will help your company fulfill your corporate social responsibility (CSR). You would be helping a local charity develop job opportunities that enable vulnerable adults to engage in meaningful activities that the Island community benefits from.

By using the Les Amis Recycling Team you are also helping your company support Jersey’s recycling target. The concept of the ‘more we collect the cheaper it gets’ is to encourage a green approach to recycling in Jersey.

“Dress down to keep your waste down”

As Les Amis is a local charity if you dress down each week to collect money for charity, £5 out of this pot could cover your recycling needs for the week! It’s a win, win, win situation.

If you are interested in supporting this initiative or to discuss costs please contact Shaun Findlay Les Amis' Managing Director

We are confident we can provide a cost effective service that will be beneficial to local businesses across the Island.
