"I feel my role as a Director and Trustee is to provide the other Board members with the perspective of a parent of two young adults who access Les Amis’ respite and outreach services. I have constant interaction with the parents of other service users so feel I am able to represent their views accurately and with empathy.”
Mark was invited to join the Board in late 2012, a few months after he lost his wife, Heather, to skin cancer aged just 45. Mark has two children; Ryan, who has Down Syndrome and Megan, who is autistic.
Prior to Mark retiring to look after the children, he was employed by a local firm of accountants for 33 years.
Mark is heavily involved with Disability Sport and was honoured to have been the winner of The Pride of Jersey Award 2015 for the category of "Unsung Sporting Hero of the Year” - an accolade he holds dear.
